UK urged to assess migration through national security lens
According to UK's independent terrorism legislation reviewer Jonathan Hall KC, it is perfectly 'legitimate' to examine the effect of migration on the national security of any country. This comes in wake of a violent unrest that occurred in Belfast following an incident of knife attack by a Sudanese refugee. Further, Donald Trump’s 2025 National Security Strategy had warned that the immigration policy adopted by Europe leads to civil disturbances. According to Hall, the UK government needs to analyze the effect of migration on its national security instead of economic and accommodation reasons alone.
